Children need your time and talents

We rely on a dedicated team of volunteers to help us provide services to children who desperately need someone on their side. Here are some of the ways you can get involved.

Court Appointed Special Advocate Program (CASA)

CASA volunteers are everyday citizens appointed by the Court to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse and neglect. They stand up for these children and change their lives. Participation in training and a one year commitment is a prerequisite.

Family Host

Our hosts are the calming presence for children and their families when undergoing a forensic interview.   They accompany and engage the family during waiting periods, entertain children, answer basic questions and provide reassurance.  A1-2 hour training is required and participation is flexible.

If These Walls Could Talk Event

Invite your friends or associates to our center to learn more about the work we do on behalf of our children.   You may also choose to assist with the events hosted by others by greeting guests, assisting with set-up, service and clean up.  Approximately 3-4 hours per month (Monday lunches, Friday breakfasts).

Weiss Ambassadors

Assist center with prevention programs, monitor and participate in outreach events which may include speaking to community groups.

Special Events

Participate in special event planning including the Superhero Fun Run, Holiday Event, annual campaign and events designed to increase funding for the center.

Clerical and Office

We are always looking for friendly phone voices, filing assistance, organizational help, housekeeping, gardening and helpful hands!

If you would like to volunteer, please call 810-238-3333 or complete our Volunteer Application Form and drop it off.  Please note that all volunteers must pass a background check.
