The mission of the Weiss Child Advocacy Center is to prevent child abuse and help survivors become children again.
We focus on two aspects of abuse and neglect: protection for children who need immediate help and prevention services to help break the cycle. Weiss Child Advocacy Center serves as all Genesee County children by providing a safe haven for child abuse victims and the non-offending parent(s); education and empowering school-aged children about preventing children abuse, and serves to inform the community about child abuse and way to intervene and protect our children.
Weiss Child Advocacy Center works to intervene the alarming number of children who are victims of abuse by education, empowering, and enlighten the community, school aged children and parents about prevention factors. Weiss leads the community in responding to victims of child abuse violence and works to break the cycle of abuse via prevention, intervention programming and community education. Weiss is dedicated to building healthy relationships and provides a continuum of services for persons of all ages who have been, or are at risk of being, victims of child abuse or neglect. Our agency’s model is grounded in a strength-based, empowerment philosophy and incorporates best practices and evidenced-based strategies.
Weiss envisions a community in which all children enjoy lives free from abuse/neglect and feel safe in secure in their relationships. All of our services are completely free to the family. Weiss creates a vital link between community services and victims of child abuse.
