Linden — The Linden Police Department is investigating an attempted abduction report.
Linden Community Schools Superintendent Ed Koledo issued an alert Thursday morning after Linden Police Chief Scott Sutter informed him that a Linden student reported that he was a victim of an attempted abduction at 9:45 a.m. in front of his house.
While playing in his front yard, near Murphy and Oak streets, the 8-year-old boy was approached from behind by a man who had gotten out of a late model tan or brown Suburban or Yukon-style SUV. The boy described the man as being from 19 to 30 years of age, about 6-feet tall, slim build and dark hair. The unknown man was wearing black shorts and a blue T-shirt.
The boy reported that the man attempted to grab him by the waist. The boy broke loose, yelled and ran into his house to tell his mom.

The mother immediately took her son up to the Linden police station to alert police. The mother did not witness the incident.
On Tuesday, the school superintendent issued a similar alert after a suspicious man, seated in a car, was seen closely watching students at bus stops near Saddlebrook Drive. The police department received many good tips from that notification. The unknown man from Tuesday’s suspicious incident was described as being in his late 50’s with grey hair.
Anyone with information is urged to call Linden police at (810) 735-5454 or 911.
